Ogie’s story is one of quiet bravery.

 Found in a remote Macedonian village, struggling to walk and terrified of people, we thought he had been hit by a car. But x-rays revealed a bullet lodged in his spine—a cruel reminder of a past where he was likely used for hunting, then abandoned when he wasn’t “good enough.”

Surgery couldn’t safely remove the bullet, but after 15 laser treatments, Ogie’s mobility is quite good. He occasionally turns his right hind foot backward but corrects it himself immediately. Ogie does not require any further ongoing vet treatment for his injury and can live a happy, comfortable life with you.

When we first took him in, he was scared and tried to escape. But Ogie has learned to trust again and is now obedient, friendly, and deeply affectionate. His sad, soulful eyes are searching for a family who will love him as much as he will love them.

Ogie is ready for a home where he will be safe forever—where his bravery will be met with kindness, patience, and the gentle walks he enjoys so much.
